Harry didn't like the idea and Ginny grinned. "Well, we were bored," Ginny reminded Harry thoughtfully. The only way they would hang out with Malfoy would be out of boredom, and that was only if they did! "Could be fun. I can practice my Bat Bogey on him."
She really wasn't sure why Draco was so interested. He had all these other girls throwing themselves at his feet. Pansy Parkinson, for example. Ginny could see the Slytherin girl still in the stands with her little friends. Silly slut. She was eyeing Draco like a piece of meat and glaring at Ginny like she was dirt. Ginny rolled her eyes. "Why do you care so much anyway, Malfoy? I can't help but think you're up to something. Why don't you go crawling back to your little...fangirls?"
How Draco had fangirls was beyond her. He was a prat. A good looking prat, but he was still an arse! Ginny wasn't sure how anyone put up with him. Ginny wasn't going to stand around and put up with his crap, though. She would make sure he knew that, too. She had fought in the war those weeks ago and was quite accomplished with her hexes and her punching. Draco Malfoy wouldn't stand a chance against her if he said or did the wrong thing.

Draco raised his hands in surrender. "Seriously, I just want to get to know you.. I'm not planning anything"
He followed Ginny's gaze and saw Pansy glaring at him. God, he hated her so much. She was always hanging off his arm. Draco knew full well that the only reason Pansy was so interested was because of his looks. But that was what most of the Slytherin's were like. They were shallow, and only cared about reputation and how attractive they were. He didn't want to be like that, but what choice did he have? Even with the Dark Lord gone, everyone knew him, knew what he stood for during the War, knew that he didn't help the good side.
He glanced back at Ginny and Potter, both of whom were giving each other suspicious looks. "Please?" he said, "I don't want to be like them - " he motioned at the other Slytherin's "anymore."

"I'm really not sure..." Harry grumbled. "You're a Slytherin after all, you're always up to something. How do I know you are trying to pull something?" Harry asked skeptically.
It was true after all. Slytherins were known for their cunning and guile, and they always had (more often than not) ulterior motives and contingency plans. How could he trust someone like Draco in a house like Slytherin? Harry rubbed at the fading scar on his forehead. He was just thinking about this not too long ago how he would be ok with trying to befriend Draco to some degree, so what was his problem with it now? It certainly wasn't an issue that he was a Slytherin.
Perhaps it was because of his suggestive manner? Maybe it was the way he looked at Ginny, the girl he considered as a younger sister? He didn't really know exactly. There couldn't be much harm done if he just through caution to the wind and indulged the blonde. They WERE bored.
Harry sighed in defeat, "Fine. I'll stick around. No funny business or you'll regret it, Malfoy." Merlin he hoped that this was the right choice.

Draco sounded sincere, but that didn't always mean anything. Ginny eyed him suspciously. He claimed he didn't want to be like the other Slytherins anymore, but that didn't always mean anything. Ginny glanced at the crowd again. If he was serious, Ginny wouldn't blame him. The Slytherins were a tough crowd and a shallow one at that. All they cared about were looks, reputation, blood purity, and all that tripe. There was more to life than that. They didn't understand real friendship or love. Ginny almost pitied them if theey weren't so awful. Harry agreed, though, so Ginny slowly nodded. "I guess we can do that, Malfoy. Just remember, you have the guy who defeated Voldemort here. And you've seen me with my wand. It would be pretty stupid of you to try anything."
With that, Ginny linked her arm through Harry's and raised her eyebrows challenginly at Draco. "So. We're bored, you want to be friendly. How are you going to entertain us?" She grinned and glanced at Harry. Hopefully Draco had something good in mind. Honestly, if Draco was serious about all of this that would be very neat and it would be interesting to get ot know him. But Ginny ahd known him too long to just believe it right off the bat. He had a lot of years of damage to undo if he wnated to be their friend. If not, then Harry and Ginny were smart enough to figure it out and make him pay for trying to mess around with them.

Harry figured that he would go along with this little charade because Draco obviously had some strange fascination with his friend, his adopted sister. The least he could do for her would to accompany her, though he wasn't sure if Draco wanted him around judging from the look in his eyes.
He was more curious about the fact his year mate was so willing to throw away the house rivalry that had been going on since long before they had ever come to Hogwarts. More importantly he was ready to abandon those of his house that he was suppose to consider family. He knew that all the Heads of House encouraged to treat them as such. Since Slytherins happened to be the most hate of all the houses he thought they were the most tight nit because they only had each other. He had witnessed, of course, that some of the braver girls and boys in the house of snakes ventured forth and attempted to make friends outside the walls of their isolation. For the most part those individuals succeeded.
He would say it out loud, not yet anyways, that he really did commend Draco for trying to change his ways. Perhaps some good would come out of this. He observed as those Slytherins sitting in the stands particularly Pansy who was glaring their way. She looked angry.
Harry let Ginny link her arm with his and waited for Draco to answer Ginny's question.
