The Gryfindor Quidditch team had been practicing for an hour and now they were taking a break before they continued. They had their final match against Ravenclaw that weekend nad had to get all the practice they could. Ginny was laying in the grass in exhaustion with her arm thrown over her eyes to block out the bright light of hte sun. She frowned when she heard Lavender and Parvati come up since Lavneder was dating one of the players this year. The two girls were babbling about gossip per usual so Ginny tuned them out until she heard Lavender mention that she had heard from Susan who had heard from Hannah who had heard from Megan who had heard from Lisa who had heard from Morag who had heard from Eloise who had heard from Tracey who had heard from Daphne and Astoria that Snape and Odell used to date. The Muggle Studies teacher and the Potions Master? Ginny sat up.

"What?"

"It's true!" Lavender shrieked. "Professor Odell is so sexy how can he date Snape? Snaep's so ugly."

"Odell's not that great, bu he's too good for that greasy git," Ginny said wrinkling her nose.

"I know right!" Parvati exclaimed.

"That's insane," Ginny said.

"I don't get it. What's so great about Sanpe anyway?" Lavender said.

Ginny ahd no idea. Snape was so ugly and greasy and mean how could anyone want to be with him? It felt good to rant and talk bad about Snape especially after hwo awful he ahd been to her in class today. "Maybe Snape gave him a love potion. That's the only way."

"Ooh that does make sense!" Lavender giggled and began concoting stories with Parvati.

Harry loved Quidditch. He loved the practice, loved the games, loved flying in general.

Quidditch practice held a small portion of Harry's heart. They were much more laid back than the high stress games. He loved getting a work out; it washed away all the stress and worries of the day, it felt amazing getting into the locker room and shedding the dirty uniform and armor. The way his body ached and burned after a good work out and the way his skin yearned for a scalding hot shower was simply divine. His body was in great shape too. You don't get your form while flying on a broom. The team did a lot of resistance training and weight lifting, they followed their work out regimen religiously. He had a wonderfully lean, sculpted seeker build because of it. You don't just rely on your brooms speed as a seeker.

Today's practice was as good as always. The sun was shining, the skies were clear, it was warm, and the breeze soft.

The team was taking a break of course, so Harry decided that he'd do a couple laps around the pitch before stretching out on the grass. He finished said laps, spotting Ginny sitting in the grass. He wrinkled his nose as the gossip monger Lavender, and the rather bland sheep Parvati joined his team mate.

"Hey Gin." Harry greeted as he neared; dismounting his broom he sat next to her, setting his broom next to him. He didn't spare a look at the other two girls for fear of becoming the center of the gossip himself. He was a little afraid of what the topic was when he heard 'love potion'.

"What's going on?" He asked, shooting the red head a grin.

Ginny smiled as Harry joined her. "Hey Harry!" she said back with a wave. Harry sat bside her so Ginny turned her attention away from the other girls. When Harry asked what as going on Ginny shrugged. "Not much. Listening to them talk," she said, nodding to the girls. "They said that Snape and Odell used to date. How weird is that?"

"It's true!" Lavender cut in. "My sources are very reliable! Plus look at ho wird they act together sometimes. It definitely makes me think there used ot b something there."

"Maybe it was unrequieted love," Parvati giggled. "On Snape's end of course."

"Of course!" Lavender said. "So we thought he gave Odell a love potion. Poor guy. Trickd into wasting time with Snape of all people!"

"Not that I'm interested in th elove lives of my teachers, but it does make sense," Ginny said with a grin. "He treats us liek garbage I can't imagine how he'd tereat someone he was in a relationship wtih."

"C'mon babe . Did you see how good I was flying?" Lavender's boyfriend interupted so Lavender went on to priase her boyfriend while Parvati followed looking annoyed.

"I swear I thought he was going to give me a detention just for looking at him funny," Ginny said rolling ehr eyes. "I dont know how anyone could put up with him if htey dind't have to."

Merlin, they would be talking about that rumor... or story. How could girls thrive off this shite?! Harry shook his head in amusement. Snape was an ugly, sarcastic, evil git but even the worst witches and wizards have the right to a... relationship? He himself held no love at all for the Potions Master but Harry didn't have the right to judge his personal life.

"Sure seems weird. I can't really picture Snape in any sort of relationship." Harry smirked until Lavender started talking.

That girl could very well be the next Rita Skeeter with the way she pattered on. And what was that about sources? Harry snorted with amusement. If most of the student body wasn't a bunch of 'followers' he sources would be useless. Spying on people and snooping around in their personal lives coming up with false facts was hardly worth hearing about.

"You do know that the use of love potions are illegal now, right?" Harry chimed in. It seemed like no one read real news anymore. Love potions were highly dangerous and had been banned a long with a lot of other sketchy bits at the end of last year.

Harry ignored Lavender and Parvati and listened to Ginny's little rant about how badly Snape treated his students. She was mostly right though. He disliked the man but he couldn't completely disregard the fact that he would have died long ago if it were not for him.

"You don't really think that do you, Gin? He's not a nice man, obviously, but he helped us out quite a bit while we were dealing with Voldemort. More importantly, who are we to judge his personal life?" Harry paused. Merlin it sounded like he was defending the git, didn't it? "I like Muggle Studies Professor. Hes really smart and insightful, his good looks are bonus, I can see why Snape liked him. Not that I'm trying to defend Snape or anything. Snape is one of the best Potions Master in the world and he's brilliant, maybe they were good together?" Saying that left a bad taste in his mouth and he grimaced.

Ginny sighed as Harry defended Snape again. He did it a lot more than Ginny thought was natural since a lot of people liked to say a lot of really nasty things about him, though it wa smostly to the press. "Merlin, Harry, the way you stick up for that git I wonder if you're shagging with him!" Ginny said teasingly and leaned over to bump against him so that eh ould know she was just joking. "I know you thin he's some misunderstood hero or something,and I know he helped us, but tha doesn't mean i like him. He's still horrible to people! He's not social or good looking or anything. Odell might not be the most attractive man ever but he's leagues ahead of Snape. I'm sure SNape would need more than intelligence to catch his attention. That's not to say they werne't involved. I mean Odell could be mentally challenged or something" she laughed. "Loo I know Snape did us good but with the way he is it's hard to remember that sometimes. well most of the time really."
